The presenter received post doctoral funding for research into Neo-patronage and the arts in Victoria, subsequent to undertaking fieldwork in Maharashtra. The work in India identified issues of patronage and sustainability and although there is no direct extrapolation from the PhD, the motivations, both instrumentalist and intrinsic, which guide arts patronage and encourage sustainable arts practice.
